Sach’s Bridge, built circa 1854, was designated Pennsylvania’s most historic bridge in 1938. Legend has it that following the battle of Gettysburg, three Confederate soldiers deserted their unit. They were then found by that unit and hanged from the side of the bridge for their actions, their bodies discovered shortly after by Union troops passing by.
